Quilled Bee and Flowers Card

Good morning and happy Tuesday! I am delighted to welcome you to another week and another challenge at Tuesday Alchemy! This week, you can choose to be inspired by a word themed challenge! The words are: bee, guitar, and lunch--feel free to use one, two, or all three words! I bet you can already see which word I used. ;)

Materials used were mostly paper and glue, but let's not forget the glitter and a laser printer. :D
It was a bit of a challenge sandwiching a color. I don't particular feel comfortable looking at a photograph of a real bee (yes i'm a scared-y cat!), so I made the wings from memory. I hope they're true to form.

Here's the interior.

I hope you will join us for a chance to win from our fabulous sponsors this week: Robyn's Fetish and Birdie Brown!!!

P.S. Head over to She Stamps to enter Cheryl's blog candy giveaway! Here is what the prize consists of:

Quilled Candle Happy Birthday Letterpress Blue Card

Before I get to my card, I want to give a shout out to sweet, sweet Laine from Hugs4theHeart Designs! I was lucky enough to win a giveaway on her blog and I want to show you how generous of a prize giver she is:
Can you believe it?! I got 4 different sets of stamps, a sampler of ribbon, mixed beads, and a super vintage and gorgeous thank you tag! I will be putting them all to good use in the near future! I would highly recommend that you visit her to see her versatile crafting--by versatile I mean that she makes everything from cards to beautifully altered boxes and creating different wall art. Who knows, you may get your next spark of creativity from her! Thank you, Laine, and you ROCK! :)))))

Here is my card--I bought the Lifestyles Letterpress Starter Kit a while back to use with my Cuttlebug. It took some adjusting, but came out pretty good in the end. It's hard to see the depth of the debossing in pictures, sorry!

It's a blue candle for a guy--4 rolled coils with glittered centers. Heavyweight card stock (140 lbs) sits on top of blue card stock (80 lbs). You really do need the super heavy and thick card stock when working with letterpress.

This was given to one of my housemates to give to his dad's birthday, so it was typed in Chinese and printed out--says, Wishing you a happy birthday, daddy! You read it from right to left, top to bottom.

Quilled Cupcake Swinging Card

This was the first time I made this type of card--swinging card. It is actually pretty fun. The only thing is that I couldn't make it a double sided circle because I used quilling and that is much too raised. If I added quilling to the other side, then the card wouldn't close flat if you know what I mean.

I am not as satisfied with the way the cupcake came out--it doesn't look the way I originally imagined it in my head. :P I covered the brown frosting with glitter to make it look like sprinkles. The wrapper is alternating blue-greens. It is shy one color to complete this week's Tuesday Alchemy color theme: sea green, brown, and pink. The circle background is dry embossed, but it is hard to see. I had a hard time taking a head-on shot of the card as you can tell. :D
As always, a huge thanks to our sponsors! This week's sponsors are:

-Di's Digi Downloads ($10 Store Voucher)
-LEJ Designs (3 Digital Images)
-Hugs4theHeart Designs ($10 Gift Certificate)

*Thank you to Laine for pointing out my earlier error in listing the sponsors--I sincerely apologize!

Quilled Bouquet of Tulips Trifold Card

Happy Tuesday! I am here to share with you my card for the new Tuesday Alchemy challenge this week--it's Bingo! You may remember Marion, a DT and also last week's sponsor, from stopping by our blogs; she was awesome enough to make up this BINGO chart for the theme this week:
Do you know how to get BINGO? Just chose a row or column/diagonal works too and make sure to do all 3 things on your project. If you're feeling a bit stuck, I would suggest purposely using up the "Your choice" star as I have done below. ;)

This card will be given to a couple on their wedding day in Sept. I went down the middle: flowers, glitter, dry embossing. Do you spot where I did the dry embossing and glitter?

It's a trifold card that is being held together by this blue satin ribbon/belly band. The inside is decorated with pattern paper. I forgot to take a picture of it. :X Maybe I'll remember to do it when I write the card. The backdrop that the quilling sits on was die-cut into various sizes of scalloped circles.

-White Prima flower
-Quilled tulips: light cornflower blue, green, peach
-Cardstock: Paper Presentation 80lb, Cambridge                   Blue; Touché Cover, 13 pt. White
-Martha Stewart Glitter
-Blue Satin Ribbon
-Cuttlebug embossing folder

This week's sponsors are:
-Flonz-- win a $20 Store Voucher
-Scrapper's Delights-- win 6 single digital stamps

Such exciting stuff! I hope you'll play along!
